v1.1.9 AAE Patch Notes

| Old God Cards
This update is focusing on the old gods themselves and deck building around them, making more changes for the players and varied difficulties for the game. This will act as a balance to counteract player deck building and the inherent strength that goes with it.

Old Gods:

With deckbuilding in mind an effort was made to make each old god have synergies with its cards. That means a rework of all their abilities. Starting with Sokuul, Goz’lenha, and Umbra.

Sokuul, God of Decay -

  • After unit phase all player cards that are disabled lose UNT equal to the number of disabled player cards. When a player card is destroyed by the OG or its cards, a player disables a card of their choice.

  • After unit phase disabled player cards lose 1 unit. When a disabled player card is destroyed by the OG or its cards, a player disables a card of their choice.

Goz’lenha, God Chaos -

  • At the start of each turn draw the last played curse from the discard pile and place it into the draw pile and reshuffle. Additionally, If a curse is played the OG plays a card.

Umbra, Goddess of Oblivion -

  • If a minion reaches 5 stacks they are placed into the minion discard pile and draw 2 OG cards from the OG discard pile.

  • If a minion reaches 5 stacks then play 1 non- Curse Card from the OG Discard pile per turn during draw phase.

The Decay Deck:

Most of the effort was put towards the decay deck for this patch by adding 1 minion, 3 monsters, 2 Ruins, 1 Wasteland, and 2 Curses for their deck. Most of these cards work around the disabling effect of Sokuul.

Minions -

Grubling - I thought it would be interesting to have a minion with a negative death effect so the Grubling disables a card when it dies at 3 stacks.

  • Str 1

  • Attack Order: Strongest H S L

  • This Minion NGDE is disabled until it reaches 3 stacks

  • Disable the card that destroyed this minion.

Monsters -

Dreadwater leviathan - A boss monster similar to World ender or Maw, made to be a terrifying threat by wiping out many cards at once.

  • 18 Str

  • Attack Order: Strongest H S L

  • When placed, If the OG discard pile has ≤ 10 cards, shuffle this into the deck, then draw 2 Minion. When attacking, Split damage evenly between the target and horizontally adjacent cards.

  • A player of your choice may draw a card from their discard pile and put it in their hand or play it.

Endmother - the caretaker of the minions of the old god, this card entwines cards in its web like vines creating food for her spawn.

  • 7 Str

  • Attack Order: Weakest H S L

  • When attacking instead of doing damage this Monster disables the attacked card.

  • NDE - Draw a minion

Reaper Drone - A savage attacker that prays on the weak, crushing your disabled cards in one attack.

  • 3 Str

  • Attack Order: Strongest H S L

  • If this Monster attacks a disabled card, it destroys that card.

  • NDE - Disable one of your cards.

Wastelands -

Rotten Orchard - Once an orchard controlled by the people of aluna, now infested by chaos. Discarding players cards every turn

  • 12 Str

  • Each player must discard a card during the old god draw phase.

  • NDE: The one of the attacker's Land is disabled until the end of your next turn.

Ruins -

Hivevine - A parasitic plant like infestation that drains the world of life. Causing disabled cards to stay disabled until this card is destroyed.

  • 12 Str

  • When a player card is disabled, it stays disabled until this card is destroyed.

  • PDE - All disabled player cards become enabled.

Infested Remnants - Remnants of a human settlement that has been consumed by the hivevine blight. Disabling players cards when other cards are destroyed causing a devastating chain effect of destruction.

  • 8 Str

  • When a player card is destroyed by the OG or its cards, a player disables a card of their choice.

  • NDE - The one of the attacker's Structures is disabled until the end of your next turn.

Curses -

Ensnare - A curse immediately disabling players cards.

  • Disable any player cards equal to double the number of players.

Forsake - A curse making players put cards back into their hand.

  • Each player must take one non-disabled card in play and place it back in their hand.

The Chaos Deck:

I also squeezed out one additional monster for the chaos deck tho it is probably the least put together deck of the bunch.

Arcane Siphoner -

  • Str 7

  • Attack Order: Weakest S H L

  • When this monster destroys a player card, the OG Reveals Cards until it finds a curse. Play the Curse then reshuffle the rest.

  • PDE: Any 1 player may search their deck for 1 spell and add it to their hand, then shuffle their deck.

Reworks:

A few reworks were also done to some of the existing cards to make them better fit in the decks.

  • Demoralize - Scales off discarded Old God Cards.

    • Each player removes 1 UNT for every OG card in the OG discard pile from any number of cards in play. Can not drop a card below 1 UNT.

  • Chaos gate - changed to fit the chaos deck. It was kinda weak and uninteresting before so it has been changed

    • When a curse is played its effect triggers twice.

    • The OG Reveals Cards until it finds a Curse. Play it, reshuffle the rest.

| Player cards

Only some small tweaks to the player based on a few playtests.

Beast tamer - Ability was not worded how it was intended to work.

  • With this cards UE, You may deal additional damage using this Hero UNT.. If the OG cards PL is greater then or equal to the minion combined PL and UNT then the minion dies.

  • If this Hero has 5 or more UNT on it: When a minion attacks this hero, it instead attacks an OG card, dealing damage equal to its PL.

Crack Shot Musketeer - wording may have caused some confusion, it now has been clarified

  • Make a no UNT cost attack that destroys a monster or minion - disable this card for 1 turn.

Visions of death - hilariously players could win the game by playing this card on the old god. This has now been remedied.

  • Triggers a PDE of your choice instantly without destroying the card. This effect does not work on the OG itself.

Beach - beach could be used multiple times with effects that triggered abilities for free. Now being disabled is part of the ability.

  • Discard a Card: Draw a Card from the top of your deck and play it then disable this card.
